Caparo India

Caparo India’s operations began in 1994 with Caparo Maruti Limited (CML), a joint venture with Maruti Suzuki India Limited, the largest car manufacturer in India, to provide sheet metal stamping, weld assemblies, and complete sub-modules.

In 2000, following the success of CML, Caparo expanded its Indian operations with Caparo Engineering India Limited (CEIL), which was formed to cater to the needs of all other OEMs. Subsequently plants were added almost every year in close proximity to OEMs.

With its headquarters in Gurugram, Caparo India has over 25 state-of-the-art manufacturing units across the country, many of which are greenfield developments. Its businesses are divided into Stamping, Non-Stamping and Commercial Tool Room, both in the automotive and non-automotive space. Its core capabilities lie in Stamping/Sheet metal, Forging, Aluminium die casting, Fasteners, and Steel Tube manufacturing. Apart from catering to the needs of all the major OEMs in the passenger, commercial vehicle, and off-highway segments, it also supplies heavy and critical fabrication parts to the Indian Railways.

In 2005, Caparo India Limited (CIL) was set up to create Ayatti, a modern socio-cultural facility spread across 20.78 acres of landscaped lawns in Greater Noida to cater to MICE events, exhibitions and corporate events.

The following year, Caparo MI Steel Processing Limited (CMI) was incorporated through a JV with Marubeni-Itochu Steel Inc., Japan to provide customized laser welding services for large sheet metal panels for automotive body applications.

In 2012, Caparo Power Limited (CPL), a 26 MW gas-based group captive power plant was set up at Bawal, Haryana through a joint venture with Finland-based energy major, Wartsila to supply uninterrupted power in the region.

In 2012, Caparo Power Limited (CPL), a 26 MW gas-based group captive power plant was set up at Bawal, Haryana through a joint venture with Finland-based energy major, Wartsila to supply uninterrupted power in the region. Caparo Procam Infrastructure Limited (CPIL) was set up in 2013 as a joint venture between Caparo and Procam Logistics Pvt Ltd., for creating warehousing infrastructure and offering world-class Management and Allied Services to industries such as Automotive, Retail, Rail, Heavy Engineering, etc.
